Sunday School Family Game Night and Sleepover

On Saturday, February 20th the Sunday School Program held their 2nd Family Game Night. Everyone had a great time either playing, seeing friends, or just being at church. There was also a Lenten dinner and a short Bible Study with His Eminence Archbishop Eugene Kaplan and Father Ephrem Adde. We were blessed with a great attendance - 150 young and old gathering together for a fun evening.

We would like to thank Mrs. Febronia Shammas and Mrs. Hannan Nassour for their time and delicious falafel. We also extend our gratitude to all those who helped serve, clean, and supervise the event. May God bless you.

Following the Family Night, the Sunday School students held their annual Sleepover. This is a yearly event which takes place every weekend of our Patron Saint Ephrem feast. There was about 60 people who prayed, said their blessings, played and socialized until the late hours, and had a great time. It is one of the students’ favorite events and in the morning, it was capped off by a Lenten breakfast. The students then packed their belongings and prepared themselves for their weekly Sunday School classes.

The Western Archdiocese of the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch, providing spiritual guidance and leadership to the Syriac Orthodox community, is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization comprised of 10 churches and parishes in 17 western states. It was established in 1952 as the Archdiocese of the Syrian Orthodox Church encompassing the entire United States and Canada. In November 1995 by the Holy Synod, the Western Archdiocese was formed to exclusively serve the 17 states of the western half United States.
