The Unified Youth Administrative Committee

March,20 2024

Western Archdiocese Youth Committee (WAYC)
In a significant and visionary move, the Western Archdiocese took a giant stride towards fostering unity, leadership, and collaboration among its youth on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at St. Ephraim Cathedral. The Unified Wester Archdiocese Youth Committee formed, signaling the archdiocese's commitment to empowering and engaging the younger generation in service of their community and faith.

The idea behind the Unified Western Archdiocese Youth Committee emerged from a collective recognition of the need to streamline and strengthen youth engagement within the Western Archdiocese. Youth Leaders and clergy members came together to address the challenges faced by youth programs operating independently and to create a more cohesive and impactful approach to youth ministry.

The formed youth committee names are:
Tanya Ibrahim, President, Jessica Watfa, Vice President, Gabriella Allaf, Secretary, Andrew Jallo, Treasurer, Jenan Hanno & Sandy Diab, Social Media & Marketing; and Grais Kawmi, Elias Salmo; Farah Albanna, members. V. Rev. Fr. Saliba Kassis, and Rev. Fr. Gabriel Hanna, Consultants.
The Western Archdiocese Youth Committee aims to address the needs and aspirations of the youth within our community. We believe that by providing a platform for young individuals to engage in meaningful discussions, activities, and service projects, we can foster their spiritual growth, leadership skills, and sense of belonging within the church.

The objectives of the Western Archdiocese Youth Committee include:

1. Providing a forum for young members of the archdiocese to express their ideas, concerns, and aspirations.
2. Organizing events, workshops, and retreats tailored to our youth's spiritual and social development.
3. Encouraging active participation in Church activities, including liturgical services, charitable initiatives, and educational programs.
4. Nurturing leadership qualities among our youth through mentorship, training, and opportunities for service.
5. Strengthening the bond between youth members and the clergy fosters unity and collaboration within our Archdiocese.

The Western Archdiocese Youth Committee's formation is a testament to the community's commitment to investing in the church's future leaders. As the committee takes its first steps, it promises to create a vibrant and dynamic youth ministry that not only meets the needs of the present but also paves the way for a stronger, more united, and spiritually enriched community in the years to come.

The attendees had lunch following the meeting at St. Ephraim Cathedral meeting room.

We wish the Western Archdiocese Youth Administrative Committee all the best in its service to glorify the name of the Lord.
