An Important clergy meeting at St. Ephraim Cathedral

October,30 2014

The churches' priests answered the special call by His Eminence Mor Clemis Eugene Kaplan, Archbishop of the Western Archdiocese US, to a meeting at St. Ephraim Cathedral on Tuesday October 28, 2014. Most of the clergy were present in addition to Mr. Bader Alyacoubi, the general manager of the Syriac TV which will be ready soon.

His Eminence opened the meeting as usual with a prayer, asking the Lord for good and prosperous times for every priest and success for their respective churches both spiritually and socially. Soon after, he started to explain his valuable and unique project which is: The establishment of a Syriac TV broadcast worldwide, a shinning voice with faith, love, and true desire to let everyone know everything about the Syriac Church and people, their rich heritage, their diverse culture (in all historic, medical, and traditional fields that distinguish our church, both religiously and socially). Subjects will go deep in Syriac treasures found in libraries and universal museums which became a reference to the scholars of history and literature from which they obtained facts that were neglected by many historians.

His Eminence zealously and with great enthusiasm continued explaining the potential successes of this project with proofs and facts which will be the first and the only one in the Syriac world. Later when it will be broadcasted through satellites, every Syriac will enjoy this endeavor. His Eminence had previously informed His Holiness our Patriarch Mor Ignatius Ephrem II, out this project and he blessed and congratulated His Eminence. His Eminence also advised the clergy that the actual TV programs will start with a congratulating message in Syriac, English, and Arabic languages from His Holiness in voice and picture to the Syriac world in general and to his Syriac flock in the Western Archdiocese in particular.

His Eminence delivered written information about the goals of this project and how to finance it. It will not depend upon churches but rather upon generous donations of parishioners and upon advertisements and commercials. His Eminence chose to name this project (Syriac TV) and will confirm its programs in Syriac, (spoken Syriac Touroyo), English and Arabic languages.

The clergy were much elated by this happy and joyous surprise which will begin during their clergy service period. They showed their full support and readiness to work with His Eminence who wants this Archdiocese to be the first and the best in all fields.

Then His Eminence asked Mr. Bader Alyacoubi, the general manager of the Syriac TV, who himself attended clergy seminary for four years, to classify and organize programs scientifically. He asked him for additional explanations and answers to all questions raised by the clergy in this regard. He detailed every program and was highly appreciated and well trusted.

Soon after, His Eminence along with the clergy entered the church where they expressed in voice and picture their personal good feelings about this project which will start broadcasting during the upcoming Christmas and New Year season, by the grace and will of God.

His Eminence then invited everyone for lunch, thanking them and asking for their safe return to their churches and homes. They also expressed their emotions towards him and his project.
