St. Ephraim Cathedral Spiritual TripOctober,24 2014To strengthen the spirituality of his church faithful, Rev. Fr. Gabriel Hanna decided to visit spiritual places to bring back the spiritual life to the mind of visitors. On October 18, 2014 the trip to Santa Barbara started at 9 am. On their way by the bus to the old mission monastery, the visitors prayed the Lord’s Prayer in Syriac language, follows by all kinds of funny jokes and things.
The bus with his 60 visitors stopped on front of the Old Mission of Santa Barbara, the faithful explored the old historical place, and got blessings, and took memorial photos. The group was blessed by the presence of His Eminence who joined them in their trip.
On their way back to the cathedral, faithful went to the beach of Santa Barbara, it was beautiful perfect weather. They walked across the sidewalk of the beach. The last point of the visit was the Lake Casitas Park. While the food was being made the kids were playing together the parents were sitting and talking to one another. While some ladies help prepare for the food. His Eminence blessed the food and the group prayed together the Lord’s Prayer and had their lunch.
After that they played music and then kids and adult started to enjoy their time. The kids played a game together to sum up their day. Also on the way back they prayed the Lord’s Prayer as usual and all back home safely.
We thank our Eminence Mor Clemis Eugene Kaplan for coming and joining us. Thank you Abouna Fr. Gabriel, Samir Karam, and Hunain Hanna and to the other people that helped. It was blessed day for all of us. Thanks God.
