36th Anniversary of the passing away of His Holiness Late Patriarch Mor Ignatius Yacoub III

On the occasion of the 36th anniversary of the passing away of His Holiness Late Patriarch Mor Ignatius Yacoub III of blessed memory, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II gave his directions to transfer the remains of the Late Patriarch Mor Ignatius Yacoub III from his tomb in St. Georges Patriarchal Cathedral in Bab Touma, Damascus, to the shrines of the Patriarchs in St. Peter and St. Paul Cathedral at Mor Aphrem Monastery in Maarat Saydnaya.

The remains were received and a special prayer was offered after the Holy Qurobo celebrated on the occasion of the Feast of St. Peter and St. Paul.

His Holiness presided over the Holy Qurobo which was attended by their Eminences Mor Selwanos Boutros Al-Nehmeh, Archbishop of Homs, Hama and Environs, Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Vicar for the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus, His Grace Bishop Mor George Kourieh, Dean of Mor Aphrem Theological Seminary in Maarat Saydnaya, and the monks, nuns and seminarians of the Seminary as well as the faithful who came for the occasion.

The remains were placed in a special place in the shrines of the Patriarchs and His Holiness offered a special prayer before the tomb was sealed.

بمناسبة الذكرى السادسة والثلاثين لرقاد المثلث الرحمات البطريرك مار إغناطيوس يعقوب الثالث، وجّه قداسة سيدنا البطريرك مار إغناطيوس أفرام الثاني بأن يُنقل رُفات المثلث الرحمات البطريرك مار إغناطيوس يعقوب الثالث من ضريحه في كاتدرائية مار جرجس البطريركية في باب توما بدمشق إلى مدافن البطاركة في كاتدرائية القديسين مار بطرس ومار بولس في دير مار أفرام السرياني في معرة صيدنايا.

فتمّ استقبال رفات البطريرك يعقوب الثالث ووضعت في الكاتدرائية حبث أقيمت الذبيحة الإلهية لمناسبة عيد هامتي الرسل القديسين مار بطرس ومار بولس.

ترأس القداس الإلهي قداسة سيدنا البطريرك مار إغناطيوس أفرام الثاني بحضور صاحبي النيافة مار سلوانس بطرس النعمة، مطران حمص وحماة وتوابعهما، ومار تيموثاوس متى الخوري، النائب البطريركي في أبرشية دمشق البطريركية، وسيادة الأسقف مار جرجس كورية، مدير إكليريكية مار أفرام اللاهوتية في معرة صيدنايا، إلى جانب لفيف من الرهبان والراهبات وطلاب الإكليريكية والمؤمنين الذي حضروا للمشاركة بالمناسبة.

بعد القداس الإلهي، رفع قداسته صلاة خاصة ونُقِل الرفات في المكان المخصّص له في أضرحة البطاركة.
