Deacons Ordination at St. Elias the Prophet Church, Upland, CA

On the Renewal of the Church Sunday November 06, 2016, His Eminence Archbishop Mor Clemis Eugene Kaplan, paid pastoral visit to St. Elias the Prophet congregation in Upland, CA. and celebrated the Divine Liturgy, assisted by the church priest Rev. Fr. John Saif and very Rev. Fr. Abdullah Sattah.

During the Divine Liturgy his Eminence has ordained thirteen deacons to serve the altar: eleven Readers, two Sub-deacons, and in his sermon the Archbishop encouraged the faithful in Arabic and English to hold firmly of their faith and renew themselves spiritually every Sunday and when is needed by confession and having communion, not to be separated from God by committing sin …, and then the Archbishop directed his word to the new ordained deacons to serve the altar of the Lord with purity and holiness as they had promised and not to be delayed of attending the Divine Liturgy when is needed, and...

Following to the Divine Liturgy, the parish council of the church invited His Eminence to the generous meal discussing church matters.
